Nicki Minaj’s Husband Arrested for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender
Kenneth Petty, Nicki Minaj‘s husband, turned himself over to U.S. Marshals on Wednesday after being indicted for failing to register as a sex offender in the state of California.
Authorities pulled Petty over in November and saw that he was registered as a sex offender in New York, but he didn’t file in California. He was detained following the occurrence and released on a $20,000 bond. In 1995, Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape and was instructed to register as a sex offender after serving roughly 4 years in a New York state penitentiary for the offense.
If convicted of the federal charge of failing to register in California as a sex offender, Petty could serve up to 10 years in prison.
