J.Lo Logs 18th No. 1 on Dance Club Songs Chart

On February 21, 2020, Jennifer Lopez‘s song “Baila Conmigo” topped the Billboard Dance Charts, becoming the singer’s 18th #1 single on the chart.

“Baila Conmigo” is a production influenced by the track by the exact name by Colombian producers Víctor Cárdenas y Dayvi and which has become a viral trend in Latin America. The anthem marks Lopez’s first Spanish-language single since Bad Bunny-aided “Te Guste” in 2018, and is a high-verve dance joint with heavy Latin touches.

Roughly translated, the track opens with Lopez asking her beau to “imagine you and I on the beach” with “the ocean, the sand, the sound of the waves” establishing the scene for an amorous union. She goes on to yearn about “touring your entire body”, begging her lover to “touch me, kiss me, and dance with me” before the two “touch heaven” with their fingertips and paste their mouths together.

On Billboard’ Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart “Baila Conmigo” debuted at number 16, selling just over 1,000 while amassing 724,000 domestic streams. The song too opened on the Latin Pop Songs airplay charts (#36), Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales (#5), and the Latin Digital Song Sales (#3).
