On this battlefield called life, we can only hope to leave a legacy! It has often been said that death has no dominion; however, it is the living that suffers pain. Shane Roberts, professionally known as “Kontravasy” drops his new single “Prayer”, which is inspired by my his late great friend, “Wayno”. The single, released courtesy of Kontravasy Entertainment / Wazzup Media Group is produced by Peace Otaigbe, and distributed exclusively by Vydia.
The untimely passing of Wayno erupted emotions in Kontravasy that could only be expressed in song. The last three years has been a testament of strength for just about everyone; however, Kontravasy has dealt with loosing close loved ones from the Covid19 pandemic, deep financial burdens, and a father that is suffering from dementia. Wayno’s death impacted the masses; hopefully, it inspired others.
As an artist, Kontravasy turned to the studio as an escape from it all. The single “Prayer” offers a message of delivering flowers to the one’s you love, before its too late. With the visuals coming soon, Kontravasy is fresh off a reset that is sure to add fire to his passion for music. Kontravasy Is currently working on a EP discussing real life experiences from breakups, personal life, healing, and the party scene.
Wayno’s authentic, organic approach to life fuels the fire that burns within~ Kontravasy
Today, Kontravasy is busy in the lab working on new visuals for his prior projects, “Trap” and “Profile Reloaded”. In addition, while working on his upcoming mixtape which will be released in September. In the meantime, Kontravasy Is currently working on a EP discussing real life experiences from breakups, personal life, healing, and the party scene. Kontravasy keeps his creative juices flowing by working features with some of the dopest artist across the globe. Since making his debut in 2018 with the single “Whine Ya Waist”, Kontravasy has been on GO domestically and internationally, performing on sold-out stages and events. In recent years, Kontravasy performed at the Comedy Festival in Jamaica, Amazura in Queens, Sunnyvale in Brooklyn, and many more. Through his efforts, Kontravasy and his peers also created a safe place for live bands and spoken word artist every Thursday, called “Voice Out Jam Session”.
Moving forward Kontravasy plans to extend his work into the inner cities where he will work with youths of the next generation to create stability. The goal for Kontravasy, is in hopes that through his music, individuals will be empowered, have fun, and self reflect simultaneously.
