Don’t Call it a Comeback, Shorty BX has been here for years; and 2022 will be no different as he ups the ante with his new project, “Preparation 4 Greatness”. The EP project comes as the much anticipated follow up to his epic release, “No More Favors”. The “Preparation 4 Greatness” EP will be powered by Vamp Life Records with Empire distribution; Shorty BX is on deck to blow!
Born and raised in the South Bronx, Shorty BX has paid his dues in the hip-hop game with six mixtapes, numerous singles, two full length albums and a host of music videos and features, raising his notoriety along the Eastern Seaboard. The 2012 EP “Serious Business”, spurned the hit single “Loyal Woman” which debuted on Power 105.1, catching fire throughout NY and creating an organic fanbase nationwide. It’s been up from there; the movement from both radio and the video airing on Video City TV led to the release of the 2015 mixtape, “The Heart of the Bronx”, which once again gained Shorty BX exposure.
The success of “The Heart of the Bronx”, was short-lived. In 2016, Shorty BX was met by tragedy when he suffered the loss of his twin Son, Godmother, and Godbrother. From the ashes of such loss, Shorty BX used the fact that his twin daughter survived to motivate and took to the studio with a vengeance. In 2017 Shorty BX took to the road promoting and pushing his music while gaining thousands of streams and reactions to his mixtapes. The momentum led to “The Best Kept Secret’‘, a mixtape hosted by DJ Big Mike. With a buzz-worthy project on deck, ACE Magazine featured Shorty BX on the cover which was also wrapped on their statewide promo bus.
Shorty BX began to work on his first full length studio album, “Better Late Than Never”, which was released on New Years 2019. The album featured (4) singles and laid the foundation for his Ep, “Welcome to New York, followed by the epic classic “No More Favors” which which both released in 2021.
The “Preparation 4 Greatness” EP is sure to be a collection of greatness that has been building for years. Although the Shorty BX story is still ongoing, each song has a message that resonates in the hearts and souls of the listeners. In a time where the machine is churning out here today, gone tomorrow rappers, it’s pioneers such as Shorty BX that is putting in the work that will push the culture forward.
