How does one turn tragedy into triumph? Some would agree to accept the fact that “It” happened! Then on the other end of the spectrum, there is a small portion of people who perseveres through adversity, by turning odds into their favor. Either way, who is to judge the level of anguish and despair felt by the subject victimized by tragedy?
Meet Mr. Luther Gales III! A young man with a tragic story from the word go! From day one, Luther’s fate was molded by incidents and situations far from his control.
Luther’s story began on February 14, 1996 in Brownsville, Brooklyn. His mother, Vanessa Gales, was at a friend’s house for ‘game night’ when her water broke unexpectedly, 2 months before her expected due date. Subsequently, she was rushed to Brookdale hospital where Luther was born hours later. Luther would survive; however, being raised in a dysfunctional household with unstable parents, he was constantly subjected to alcoholism, mental issues, and physical abuse by the hands of his father. Shortly after his second birthday (February 19, 1998), Luther’s mother shot him up close, hitting him in the chest/heart, and again in the stomach. Assuming she had killed young Luther, Vanessa then pulled the trigger on herself and committed suicide. Vanessa Gales felt that by ending their lives, her and son could escape the abuse of her husband (Luther’s father). The results of a two year old being shot at almost point blank range left Luther at the brink of life and death with major damage to organs and the removal of his spleen. After countless operations, and nearly two months in the hospital, Luther was discharged and released to his father who was awarded full custody by the family court system of New York.
Luther was raped and abused (both verbally and physically) by his father until he ran away from home when he was 16. When family members became suspicious that Luther was being abused by his dad, his dad moved out of Harlem where the rest of his family was based and relocated to the secluded Poconos area of Pennsylvania to literally be able to torture Luther without restriction. While attending middle and high school, Luther was an outcast, and his problems at home reflected clearly in his studies at school.
Against All Odds!
From the near fatal shots, to growing up with an abusive father, Luther knew he had to make a way, and failure was not an option! Unfortunately the family he was staying with moved back to Puerto Rico which forced Luther to officially become homeless at 17. After sleeping in a gas station bathroom for 4 months, Luther was greeted with another obstacle that would change his life… cancer. Stage 3 lymphoma had silently developed over time. The cancer developed from his spleen being removed when he was 2 years old when he was shot by his mother and his body not being able to properly filter white and red blood cells. Over his childhood, these blood cells developed pockets of tissue that slowly turned into cancerous tumors. Despite frequent hospital stays and despair from not knowing how he was going to survive with cancer, Luther endured and eventually graduated high school.
The Come Up!
Upon completing high school, Luther received a life changing surprise. At only 18 years of age, Luther was given $220,000 dollars from a life insurance policy his mother had. Armed with the small fortune, Luther pondered on how he would invest the money into something that would be fruitful. He thought back to his father and how he was a security guard for some notable people over the years (Russell & Kimora Lee Simmons, P Diddy, Lil Kim, Emma Watson) and numerous others who remembered Luther. Luther used the connection and made a few phone calls in lieu of his grand idea of producing a concert. In 2014, Luther produced his first concert, which headlined popular artists such as the OMG Girlz, Diggy Simmons, Mindless Behavior, and Justine Skye. The concert was a huge success!Luther realized he had found a lane and continued to fund/invest in larger productions. As his clientele grew in the event organizing arena, Luther found himself booking even bigger names and venues which placed him in position as a major player in the music industry.

With over a million dollars in profit in less than a year in the concert industry, Luther then set his attention to a more lucrative venture which always intrigued him…. Real estate. Not just any real estate, but Luther had dreams of traveling the world purchasing commercial and real estate in foreign territories. To further fulfill his dreams, he obtained his passport and took flight to a place he loved – Dubai.
Dubai was on the verge of exploding due to its vast population growth coupled with the advancements in both the technology and construction sector. The construction sector was seeing a 500% increase in architectural structures with real estate investors funding millions of dollars into new structures and ideas. Luther saw the movement as a great opportunity to invest and quickly diverted his efforts to the real estate market in Dubai. With the money he procured, exactly $1.7 million dollars, Luther invested in a prime plot of land in downtown Dubai in hopes of developing. Although the plot of land purchase price was $3 million dollars, Luther secured the gap from his fiancé which helped him close the gap, and the deal was finalized. Shortly after closing the deal, Luther’s leap of faith was met with assurance when real estate developers EMAAR, bought the plot for an astounding $8 million. Luther was on to something huge! Luther used the proceeds from his first deal and continued to purchase land in Dubai and develop and sell when applicable. The proven path of success led Luther to building an impressive real estate portfolio that now expands 7 countries and 38 states in the U.S.
As Luther’s real estate portfolio was expanding, so was his empire. Over the years, Luther has invested in political tours that have included Bill and Hillary Clinton, as well as former First Lady, Michelle Obama. On the music industry side, Luther has invested in the careers of chart topping artists such as Swae Lee, Future, Ciara, Da Baby, ASAP Rocky, ASAP Ferg, Migos, Kendrick Lamar, B2K, and countless others. In addition to politicians and musicians, Luther also invested into the careers of major sport stars such as Sterling Sheppard, Jamal Adams, and Buster Skrine. Now 26 years of age, Luther has a real estate portfolio appraised at $600 million, in addition to his entertainment empire which is valued at $40M.
Luther recognizes the power and influence that success brings. In a social society, Luther is known across the social media networks as a trendsetter showcasing exotic vehicles, dream destinations, and fashion on his platforms. Luther explains, “my biggest passion is elevating. Elevating in all aspects of my life. Socially. Financially. Mentally. Physically.” Luther knows the feeling of what it’s like to have nothing. With life at a point that Luther couldn’t have ever imagine; he often sits back and reflects on how he’s persevered through it all. The struggles of tragedy at an early age, being homeless, and the early diagnosis of cancer. The sky’s the limit for Luther, as he is trending on the fast track to becoming a billionaire before the age of 30, with key acquisitions. When Luther spoke to then First Lady Michelle Obama, she saw something in Luther and said, “Luther promise me you’ll run for politics and I promise you you’ll be satisfied with your results”. So with that being said, expect a political career from Luther Gales III in the future. When asked what’s next, Luther simply replies, “the pharmaceutical industry”. But, for a man that conquers everything he puts his mind to, the future looks promising with an endless well of opportunities. Luther’s followers on social media enjoy the journey as they see that ANYTHING is possible when he posts motivational photos of himself flying private jets to foreign lands.
