Nathaniel O’Rear aka Reaper, dwells from a large family, being the eldest of seven siblings. Born in Detroit, MI, he began his journey in music at the age of 3 via his local church choir and school chorus at Carsten Elementary. Following his fathers death, his grandmom moved him and his sister to Linden, AL.
Despite a new school in a new town, the passion of music was still burning inside young Reaper. He picked up a trumpet and elected to join the school’s marching band. His musical talent shined through, and ultimately O’Rear was appointed section leader. As a result, lil’ Reaper began performing in talent shows, singing in the school choir, and penning songs for local and regional artists.
Fruitful local/regional projects triggered solid working relationships with various industry professionals. Reaper then took a leap a faith and moved out to the west coast, where he continues to thrive and make the most of his possibilities. Reaper has since opened up for numerous major artists such as Too Short, Warren G, Suga Free and Bone Thugs & Harmony.
