Big Blanco: Is She The No. 1 Female Rapper Underground?

With a hit record garnering the attention of avid underground rap listeners and major record labels, Big Blanco is on course to put Grand Rapids on the hip-hop map.

“Stars,” off the highly anticipated mixtape “Education Of Big Blanco,” took home top prize at the latest Coast 2 Coast LIVE artist showcase hosted in New York City.  Blanco, drove an arduous 11 hours and 7 minutes (753.9 miles) to arrive at the showcase, proving to every spectator in the building that sacrifice and faith are indubitably key components of dream crystalizers.

Not only does “Stars” wield substansial commercial appeal – it too, gives us a modest glimpse into the rap talent’s turbulent past. Born in 1996, Blanco grew up with her two sisters and brother on the south side of Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was raised in a physically abusive household, with her mom enduring countless beatings by the hands of her controlling, sozzled father. Although her parents called it quits by the time she reached the age of 14, considerable mental sequela had stricken already the young Blanco.

Correspondingly, Blanco wound up running the streets with miscreants and peddling controlled dangerous substances. Knowing in the back of her mind she was musically gifted, and that living an unlawful life would inevitably lead to her demise, Blanco elected to put down the drugs and alternatively pick up a microphone.

With Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion and Doja Cat upheld as the elite three spearheading the relay race for female emcees, Big Blanco envisages becoming the fourth relay team member, stoically awaiting the handoff of the baton in order to break the finish line and bring home the gold.  Meantime—crank up “Stars,” keep a fixed eye on Blanco’s odyssey and don’t be surprised to hear the name ‘Big Blanco’ being hurled around your household in the immediate future.
