SXSW Preview | Wazzup Tonight Crew Descend on Austin Texas Entertainment Weekend Pt. 2 | @wazzuptonight

Austin, TX – As WAZZUP Tonight‘s Senior Executive Chief Editor, Lamont “Renzo” Bracy, so elegantly put it – SXSW 2017 was the motherbleeping place to be this year!!

Hundreds of thousands of people from all over the world graced the Austin downtown streets for potentially the biggest turnout in South by Southwest history. The women in attendance were sex-a-licous, the guys were fly to def’, and the POPO (aka police) were chilling like film villains!!

Between Music Festival Showcases, Film Festival Screenings, Speakers, Featured Sessions, SXSW Gaming, the Comedy Festival, the SXSW Awards, Exhibitions, Lounges & Special Events, etc., there were WAY too many venues from SXSW 2017 to list here. The last official day of SXSW was March 19th (Sunday), however the most turnt up day was unquestionably March 18th (Saturday) mostly due to a great deal of attendees leaving Sunday to return back home.

The WAZZUP Tonight crew (Dwayne “D-Teck” Grant, Lamont “Renzo” Bracy, Aaron “Willie T. Plaza” Granger, Leisha Henry, and Kim “Princess” Bremmer) were in the Austin streets heavy on Saturday, pounding the pavement in an attempt to capture as much of the SXSW glory as possible.

The WAZZUP team started off Saturday by attending Soundbyte Invasion; brought to you by Phantom Boyz Music, Get Signed Magazine, and Soundbyte Management. Located at 512 Bar on 6th St, the Soundbyte stage performances included: Grafh, Driicky Graham, Swift On Demand, Ted ParkZoey Dollaz, D. Chamberz, Cortez & The High Rollaz, Par-City, Lou Got Cash, Dex Lauper, Quadir Lateef, and Josh Jacobs.

After Soundbyte, WAZZUP popped in on Jack Thriller‘s stage/artist showcase featuring singer/rapper/songwriter Justina Valentine. Thriller’s event was at Peckerheads, which is located at 402 6th Street.

Following Thriller’s event, the WAZZUP team tore up 6th street with a bonanza of meet n’ greets and picture taking that had almost everyone saying “WAZZZZUP!” when the squad was in the motherbleeping area!!

We even ran into our Konvict Kartel fam Tone Tone (on the right)
(Left to Right) Willie T. Plaza, D-TECK, Tone Tone

You think it would end there……but HELLS NAH it had just freakin’ begun!! The WAZZUP platoon then went from the streets to linking up with Konvict Muzik‘s own Mr. Melvin Brown. Brown operates as CO-Founder/CO-CEO of Konvict Muzik along with superstar singer Akon. Brown was hanging out at SXSW with Australian singer-songwriter Cloves along with her co-manager Ed and invited WAZZUP Tonight to join him in the festivities. Cloves was scheduled to perform Saturday night at 800 Congress with legendary band The RootsShakey Graves, Method Man & Redman, and several other surprise guests such as Brandy, Jidenna, and Rae Sremmurd.

And yes, that is a blunt in Meth’s hand! As you see, it went ALL the way down at this year’s SXSW festival in Austin, TX!!

SXSW is an absolute must-attend for unsigned and independent musicians. The festival’s atmosphere and the networking opportunities are unparalleled. Even if you are not a musician, SXSW is still the hot spot for live entertainment and dining. Therefore we say to anyone that is willing to listen – get to SXSW next year if you have never been!!! Book your flight & hotel RIGHT AFTER reading this article even!! Yes it’s that serious.

SXSW 2018 – look out because WAZZUP mania will be back in the motherbleeping building fo’ sho’!!
