Solange “A Seat at the Table”

New York, New York – The third time is a charm; at least for Solange Knowles, as she drops her new album “A Seat at the Table.”  The first album in almost four years, A Seat at the Table is a true masterpiece of brilliant songwriting and precision vocals.  Solange, so eloquently paints the vision on canvas with her first two visuals, Cranes in the Sky and the unapologetic Don’t Touch My Hair.  The complexities addressed on the album incites a intimate conversation.  Known for opening the forbidden envelopes sealed by society, Mrs. Knowles penmanship makes way for her gift of expression on each track.

Mrs. Knowles describes the album as “a project on identity, empowerment, independence, grief and healing.”  The album touches on topics of racism, social injustice, and the rich African-American culture thats ofter forgotten.  Executive produced by Solange and  Raphael Saadiq; A Seat at the Table contains 20 tracks + a heartfelt closing.

A active advocate of the African-American experience, Solange voice serves as a battle cry for many. In songs like “Weary”, and “Mad” featuring Lil Wayne, you can feel her frustration with this system of things.  A Seat at the Table is about finding strength through adversity! I won’t give too much away, but trust me; A Seat at the Table is a great piece of literature for the Soul.

A Seat at the Table is a record with attitude and standards! The kind of record that taps on you softly on your shoulder, and whispers tranquility in the ear! A true masterpiece that will only get better with time~Renzo
