New York, NY – Tennis superstar Serena Williams is known for her mean two-handed backhands, dashing facial features, her superb figure, her special relationship with sister Venus Williams, for dating hip hop icons such as Common and Drake, and the list goes on, but now is she really a: BALLET DANCER too??
Serena posted a pic recently of herself in some awesome dancing apparel, standing in a stretching position on a ballet barre, perhaps while in warm up mode. Athletes are known to practice ballet as a form of cross training, in order to improve their game time performance. NFL Hall of Famer Lynn Swann, NFL running back great Herschel Walker, NFL defensive tackle Steve McLendon, and NBA player Michael Beasley all have partaken in ballet, and all agree it has added value to their game.
In 2016, Serena was reported to have a net worth of $150 million dollars. Since turning pro, Serena has won four Olympic gold medals, and is also a five-time winner of the WTA Tour Championships in the singles division. She has had endorsement deals with corporations Pepsi, Nike, Puma, Beats by Dre headphones, Gatorade, Delta Air Lines, Aston Martin, IBM, Chase Bank, Audemars Piguet, OPI Products, Mission Athletecare, Berlei bras, and OnePiece. Currently in partnerships with network HSN, Serena also holds an ownership stake in NFL franchise team the Miami Dolphins. Serena Williams is hands down considered one of the Top 10 greatest women’s tennis players of all time.
When Serena was a child, the family moved to Compton, California, where Williams started playing tennis at the age of three years old. Compton has gained international notoriety in part due to NWA / Aftermath founder and producer Dr. Dre, megastar musician/film actor and producer Ice Cube. and multi-platinum artist / feature film actor The Game. In addition to sports, Serena is now too a movie actress, having briefly debuted in the 2015 film “Pixels“, starring Adam Sanler and Kevin James.
