Richard Beavers Gallery features ‘Church of Broken Pieces’ collection

Fresh off of a three month run at the African American Museum in Philadelphia, Church of Broken Pieces is now being featured by the Richard Beavers Gallery. A collection of vivid images by photographer Shawn Theodore, whom is a Philadelphia based multidisciplinary artist working in the sectors of photography, video, and collage. Considered the embodiment of a defiant brand of black artistry that focuses on the fragment and manipulation of African-American and African diaspora.   Church of Broken Pieces explores concepts of race, spirituality, patriarchy, matriarchy, and class structure within disappearing Black communities.
