New York, NY — As far as critiquing goes, 2017 has not been the best for Nicki Minaj. First, the Trinidadian-born rapper got dragged by the media and avid hip-hop music listeners earlier this year for how she handled the rap battle/beef with Remy Ma. Now, both Joe Budden and Charlamagne Tha God have expressed that Minaj had a ‘trash’ 2017.
Former Everyday Struggle host, Joe Budden, and 105.1 The Breakfast Club‘s own, Charlamagne Tha God, got together and stirred up some serious controversy after releasing their 2017 recap video for Revolt. The pair revealed their “Trash” list of 2017 including Nicki Minaj, Lil Yachty, Eminem, and others. The two hosts linked up to sip a little Ciroc and converse on the ‘hype’ and ‘trash’ moments of 2017. The media personalities didn’t bite their tongues for one second and gave their honest opinions on all the hip-hop music and media instances that occurred this year.
“She has exhibited a lot of trash this year and I’m not talking about music,” said Budden said of Minaj. Charlamagne then chimed in claiming Minaj had a fruitless musical year, mainly due to her track “No Frauds” failing to make any noise. “You cannot post your accolades on Instagram every day for the year,” Budden threw in. “I’m gonna call you trash.”
The pair’s comments, however, lit a blaze underneath fellow female rapper, Azealia Banks, who quickly came to Minaj’s defense on her IG account.
