Los Angeles, CA – Nothing, absolutely nothing has set the press on fire like Donald Trump‘s presidency. President Trump has spent his first couple of weeks using his executive authority to rewrite American policy and undo a string of decisions made by former president Barack Obama. Between Trump’s travel ban on Muslim-majority countries, advancing the construction of two controversial pipelines (Dakota Access and Keystone XL), and reevaluating visa and refugee programs, the people of the United States have ALREADY drawn petitions to impeach the 45th elected President.
Luckily for us, Saturday Night Live has given us a little relief by making fun of the current disturbing U.S. government situation. Alec Baldwin, on the show has been impersonating Trump. Alec’s kept us laughing to tears as he displays the President’s political incorrectness and discriminatory persona. Last night in the S.N.L.’s cold open, Baldwin returned for another outing as President Trump, though when all was said and done it was guest star Melissa McCarthy who stole the show with her portrayal of White House press secretary Sean M. Spicer.
Saturday night belonged to McCarthy, who came out in thinning blond hair and a $2 dollar looking suit to play a combative, super-soaker-spraying version of Spicer as he led a White House press briefing. As Mr. Spicer, McCarthy told the press corps, “I’m apologizing, on behalf of you, to me, for how you have treated me these last two weeks. And that apology is not accepted”.
