Wazzup Xclusive |The “Magic” Show is Coming Back to the Los Angeles Lakers | @wazzuptonight

New York, NY – In an unprecedented move Tuesday morning,  the Los Angeles Lakers terminated General Manager Mitch Kupchak and simultaneously hired Hall of Fame Great Erving “Magic” Johnson.  According to reports, Magic Johnson will take over the helm as President in charge of Basketball Operations. The move although shocking, comes as no surprise to those in the front office in Laker’s land. The Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss removed her brother Jim Buss from the position in a move that was mutual as the teams performance warranted a change. While the talk of the League has been geared towards the blockbuster trades earlier this week, the Lakers obviously felt that the decision to make a change couldn’t wait till seasons’ end. The Lakers are a dismal 19-39 at the half way point and on the outside looking in at the playoff picture.
In a statement, Jeanie Buss said she “took a series of actions I believe will return the Lakers to the heights Dr. Jerry Buss demanded and our fans rightly expect,” referring to her father, the late Lakers owner.“Our search for a new general manager to work with Ervin and coach Luke Walton is well underway, and we hope to announce a new general manager in short order,” Jeanie Buss added. “Together, Ervin, Luke and our new general manager will establish the foundation for the next generation of Los Angeles Lakers greatness.”
Jim Buss was the President of Operations for more than 19 years, however, the success of his tenure has been far and in between in the past 5 years. As a matter of fact, the past four years result in the worst stretch in franchise history. To be honest, the Lakers have been less than competitive in the smoking hot, Western Conference. Hopefully, Magic Johnson, along with first year coach Luke Walton can turn the Lakers into the Greatest Show on Earth. Only Time will Tell!~ Renzo
