Katt Williams explains his arrest in Georgia while on his ‘Conspiracy Theory’ 50 State Tour

On Saturday 2/26/2016, the legendary Comedic veteran, Katt Williams, was at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia performing his new 50 State US stand – up tour, ‘Conspiracy Theory’. A few days later, he was arrested in Hall County, Gainesville, Georgia.

The events that lead up to his arrest, based on his side of the story, scream racism and blatant disrespect as opposed to what you may have heard being broadcast from many media outlets. Earlier today, @OfficialKattWilliams revealed his side of the story to a @TMZ reporter.

Mr. Williams went to a pool supply store to do some shopping. When he got to the register, the cashier said he thought he was there to rob the store. Mr. Williams then placed the 30 items he was about to purchase on the counter. The cashier then accused him of attempting to use the many items as a diversion/ploy so he could rob the store. At this point, Mr. Williams pulled out and placed a stash of fifteen, $100 dollar bills, on the counter.

The cashier took the money, placed it in his pocket, and proceeded to ring up the items on the counter. When Mr. Williams stated that business is not operated anywhere in America in this way, the cashier told him that he’d been working there for seven days and he didn’t care about the job and if he kept messing with him, he needed to leave the store. Mr. Williams then told him that he could not leave the store without his packages or his money. The cashier told him that he could either leave the store or go to jail. Mr. Williams stated that the cashier then used the n-word on the last day of Black History Month.

Katt Williams says he then had to do what a black man does that is self-employed. After that, he said he went out to the middle of the street and assumed the position so that the hardworking police officers who ran up on him with nine police cars and guns drawn understood that they weren’t dealing with a criminal.

Mr. Williams then told the interviewer that this was his 19th visit to Atlanta, that he’s not from there and that the state of Georgia will no longer be receiving the comedy of Katt Williams.

During this Atlanta leg of his tour, Katt Williams threw major shade at Kevin Hart and Kevin responded but that’s another story.
