What can we expect with the “Green Ep”? If Jon S. previous projects give us any indication, we can expect nothing less than perfection. Since dropping, “Lane 2 Lane” and “Coming Out Hard” on Recycle Good Music Vol. 1, the industry has taken notice, and deservingly so. Both singles resonated with the vibrant Houston’s screwed up culture giving way to his validity among many. However, Vol. 1 was a prelude to the follow-up project Recycle Good Music Vol. 2, which elevated the grind. Forward to the third installment, “The Green EP”! The results are a 6 track masterpiece of clever and meticulous street bangers. With the lead single “Tell Dat”, Jon S. clears the air by knocking doors down, showing his surround! A little slang for my 3rd Coast riders meaning, no plex is gonna stop the shine.
Produced by Kill Bighead, the EP travels deep into the land of syrup, while placing Jon S. lyrical wordplay on display. Track 5, “What’s Up” takes me back to my days of hustling in the City View Apartments on Greens Rd…(Northside 45)! Track 6 “Take the Game from Me” leaves no doubt of his existence in this game, a life story in 3 minutes and 13 seconds. On track 4 “How Long”, Jon S shows his understanding for his better half by expressing his compassion for her loyalty! A complete collection of heat, Real Talk!
