New York, NY – The marriage of Tarek and Christina El Moussa has apparently flipped upside down and flopped, as it’s been reported that the “Flip or Flop” duo have officially split up. The two announced their separation, six months after the police were called to their home for a disorderly incident involving guns and a feared suicide attempt.
Back in May, deputies responded to a call of a “potential suicidal male with a gun” at the couple’s home in Orange County. Witnesses informed police that they saw Tarek grab a gun from his safe, run out of the back door, and sprint down a hiking trail. Moments later, Christina was spotted running out of the house shaking and crying.
A helicopter spotted Tarek minutes later on a trail, and he was ordered by deputies to drop his weapon. Tarek complied, and told officers he had no intention of killing himself. He said he only wanted to “blow off some steam,” and only brought the pistol to protect himself from rattlesnakes and mountain lions. Back at the house, after a search the deputies confiscated 5 guns, including an assault rifle (AR-15).
Tarek and Christina called the events an “unfortunate misunderstanding”. The couple says the incident prompted them to get counseling, and they’ve decided to separate while they reevaluate the future of their marriage. On a good note, the Flip or Flop couple say they plan to continue their professional life together.
