Ages Apart “Civil War” from the S.T.A.T.I.C. Album

New York, New York– It’s not every day that a Alt/Rock band comes across my desk! However, when it does; the ramifications usually sends off shockwaves  in seismic proportions! Well New York, let me be the first to introduce you to “Ages Apart“.  The three piece band from Alabama takes a bite out of the Big Apple with their sophomore album S.T.A.T.I.C.!  To rave reviews, the album has garnered significant traction on Program Directors heat list for the last 6 months.  Since their debut release of Can You Hear Me in 2009, the anticipation for an Ages Apart follow up release has manifested into a epidemic worthy of an encore.

Wait no longer! The sophomore effort S.T.A.T.I.C.  is here; and serves as a declaration cry to an intense and multidimensional broken society.  First off the press is the recently released radio single “Civil War“, which offers a upfront and personal look into the afflictions of America. It just feels good to hear honest, TRUTH blaring into the mind of the masses! Not one to impose on the psyche of others,  Ages Apart offers “Civil War” to  be interpreted by listeners on a personal level.  Cody Webb vocals resonate on the track with a almost euphoric undertone.  Chris Srygley on drums and Will Bradley deep bass blends perfectly throughout the album.  The S.T.A.T.I.C. Album is a eulogy to lost relationships, or as political and spiritual polemics.

My personal favorite on the album is Wake Up, a track heavy on riffs,  loaded with hard bass and piercing lyrics always makes the blood boil! In whole, the S.T.A.T.I.C. album is a true masterpiece of rock with a twist of Roll! I love these Guys from Helena, Alabama! ~ Renzo

The Wazzup Tonight crew caught up with Ages Apart in Florence, Alabama at one of their favorite eateries~ Hacienda Mexican Restaurant …. read the interview (below)

WT: Tell us about “Civil War”? Concept? AA: Cody:  It’s always hard for me to explain a song because one of the coolest things about music is how each listener construes the message.  Ultimately, “Civil War” is about what’s going on today in society.  It’s about unnecessary division, conflict, and manipulation.  It’s about misinformation, control, and internal battles.

WT: The Album title: S.T.A.T.I.C.  See Through All The Intelligent Chaos…. What a concept, where did it come from? AA: Cody: It was a concept that I’ve been thinking about for awhile.  There’s a lot of noise in society today.  Whether it’s traditional media or online, the filter has to be turned up quite a bit to get through all the negative garbage that pollutes our world today.  Noise that’s distracting, divisive, and evil.  The record’s message begs you to cut through all the noise, free yourself from negative suppression, and see what’s actually going on.

WT: Explain your songwriting process? AA: Cody:  We have a unique approach when it comes to songwriting.  At the beginning, every song is created with a message and a melody.  Meaning, no instruments.  Just vocal and words.  I never force a song to work.  It either comes to me or it doesn’t.  Most of the time I’ll write the song in whole lyrically and melodically before the band even hears it. Once I have the lyrics and vocal melody worked out, I’ll go to the studio and record a demo for the band.  We’ll then write the rest of the song on the fly in the studio.  Chris and Will come in and we start the recording process working through tons of ideas until we get the sound we want.

WTWhen can we expect the next tour from Ages Apart? AA: Cody: We’re working on a new tour now.  Hopefully sometime this Fall.

WTHow was it rocking out with Hinder? What artist inspire you?  AA: Cody:  Always a blast touring with Hinder.  Each show is an adventure and the guys are great people to work with.

Cody:  My grandfather and my parents inspire me.  They got me hooked on music before I could even crawl and have supported my crazy dream from the start.

Will:  GNR,  Pink Floyd, Zeppelin

Chris:  Mudvayne

WT: What would you like the World to know about Ages Apart? AA: Cody:  Regardless of the kind of music you prefer, give Ages Apart’s new album S.T.A.T.I.C. a listen.  Listen to the message and open your mind.
