“Keller Williams’ Team Leader Gary Reavis and Team Leader Special Projects Martin Porter will launch the Go Kart Reavis Racing Team in June 2017. The teams will be comprised of 10 young people in the Los Angeles communities of Baldwin Hills-Crenshaw, Compton, Inglewood, Leimert Park, South Los Angeles and Watts. Reavis Racing will empower the selected teens with the skills and experience of working as a team while being coached, mentored by realtors and other business professionals.

Martin Porter created the project while participating in a Landmark Leadership program where part of the coursework was to produce a project that would empower young people to reach their potential. Martin Porter along with Dena Burton (DenaBurtonHomes.com) Greg Okwudibonye (Modernlivingestates.kwrealty.com) and Abraham Zarraga (ElevateLAHomes.com) have developed the project under the tutelage and vision of their coach and mentor Gary Reavis. Porter said, “ Reavis Racing is creating a path for our young men and women to get excited about their lives and their futures”. The team selection process will take place in May 2017 in partnership with high school principals from the community.

The mission of Reavis Racing is to elevate young men and women in challenged circumstances. The team will provide mentors, guidance and a chance to win a four-year college scholarship worth $40,000. Creating new possibilities and opportunities within the framework of team building, coordination and racing Go Karts!

Gary Reavis said, “Reavis Racing…can create a generation of men and women who take action in their own communities through real estate. This will create an anchor for themselves, their children and preserve the cultural mecca that is unique”.
